The bridges are the pieces of wood that the strings rest across, setting the speaking length of strings, hence determining each strings pitch. If the bridge itself is cracked a custom duplicate will be made.  Or if the pins are loose a new bridge cap is made and the pins that the strings rest against are reset.  However, if there is no damage to the bridges, then they are scraped, refinished, and new graphite is applied and the pins are polished.
